At the Republic Summit, superstar Ram Charan showers praise on Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster Dhurandhar franchise, calling it “terrific, phenomenal” and a symbol of national unity through cinema.
In a powerful endorsement that has caught the attention of film lovers across the country, superstar Ram Charan has praised the blockbuster franchise starring Ranveer Singh, calling it a “terrific, fantastic, phenomenal film” that has managed to connect audiences across India.
Speaking at the prestigious Republic Summit, Ram Charan revealed that he recently watched Dhurandhar on a digital platform and was deeply impressed by its storytelling, execution, and emotional impact.
“It is a terrific, fantastic, phenomenal film. Everything falls in place in the right way, at the right tempo,” he said, adding that more films like this should be made in Indian cinema.

The actor went a step further, highlighting how cinema can play a role in shaping national sentiment. He noted that themes of “India first” and national integrity are becoming increasingly important in modern storytelling, especially when films reach massive global audiences.
According to Ram Charan, the success of Dhurandhar is not just about numbers but about audience acceptance. The franchise has reportedly crossed ₹1800 crore globally, making it one of the biggest cinematic successes in Indian film history.
“The box office number is nothing but the number of people who have accepted it,” he said, emphasizing that audience footfall is the real measure of success.
The franchise, directed by Aditya Dhar, first released its initial installment in December 2025. The film quickly became a nationwide phenomenon, collecting over ₹1300 crore worldwide. Its sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, released in March this year, pushed the franchise to even greater heights, crossing the ₹1800 crore mark and becoming one of the highest-grossing Hindi films after Dangal.

Both films are now available for streaming on platforms like Netflix and JioHotstar, continuing to attract massive viewership even after their theatrical run.
Ram Charan’s remarks have further amplified the film’s reputation, with fans celebrating the rare moment where two of India’s biggest film industries—South and Bollywood—come together in appreciation of a shared cinematic success.
Industry experts believe such endorsements from pan-India stars reflect the growing unity of Indian cinema, where language barriers are fading and stories are resonating on a national and global scale.
