‘Nearly the Truth’: Naatu Naatu Singer Rahul Sipligunj Breaks Silence on Threat Case, Promises ‘Full Video at 9 PM’

Rahul Sipligunj, the singer known internationally for the Oscar-winning song Naatu Naatu from RRR, has finally addressed reports surrounding a police case in which he has been accused of allegedly threatening a woman.

The Telugu singer reacted to a news thumbnail circulating online and suggested that the report was closer to the truth than it may appear, while making it clear that he was not necessarily claiming the report supported his side.

Rahul shared a screenshot of a Mahaa New YouTube thumbnail featuring a Telugu proverb that roughly translates to: “A wedding is happening in the village, and the dogs are making all the fuss.”

Reacting to it, Rahul wrote that he was happy to see the report and described the thumbnail as one of the most accurate he had seen so far.

He added that he was not saying the report was in his favour, but claimed that it was “nearly the truth.”

The singer then announced that he would release a detailed video at 9 PM to explain the matter from his perspective.

However, according to the information available so far, the promised video has not yet been released.

What Does the Complaint Allege?

According to a report by TV9 Telugu, a woman approached the police with allegations against Rahul Sipligunj and 11 others in connection with a marriage-related dispute.

The complaint reportedly centres on Karpurapu Rahul Reddy, who allegedly introduced himself as a relative of Rahul Sipligunj in connection with a proposed marriage.

The woman alleged that Rahul Reddy later threatened to release private photographs and videos involving her.

The complaint further alleges that Rahul Sipligunj threatened the woman and forced her to record a video statement.

The woman claimed that the alleged incidents affected her reputation and personal life and accused the individuals involved of blackmail, threats and harassment.

These are allegations contained in the complaint and have not been established as facts by a court.

Police Register FIR in Visakhapatnam

Following the complaint, police reportedly registered an FIR at MVP Police Station in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

The case has been registered under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act, according to the report.

The development has now brought the singer into the middle of a legal controversy, although Rahul has yet to publicly provide his full version of events.
