Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has intensified his attack on the ruling establishment while also sending a sharp message to INDIA bloc partners during a recently released nine-minute address from the alliance meeting held on June 8.

In his remarks, Gandhi urged opposition parties to move beyond traditional electoral thinking and adopt what he described as a continuous “spirit of resistance” against the political system.

‘Stop living in doubt’: Rahul Gandhi’s strong warning

Gandhi reportedly told alliance leaders that they must stop treating alleged electoral irregularities as uncertainty and instead accept them as a “certainty.”

“You must accept with 100% certainty that elections are being stolen,” he said, urging leaders not to remain in what he described as a “state of confusion.”

He further criticised opposition partners for relying on outdated political strategies, arguing that the ground reality has fundamentally changed.

Sharp message to INDIA bloc allies

The Congress leader also directed his remarks towards key INDIA bloc parties, including the Samajwadi Party, Trinamool Congress, and Rashtriya Janata Dal.

He suggested that these parties were underestimating the current political environment and relying on past assumptions about fairness in elections.

“These political instruments only worked when the Indian State provided a fair field. That field does not exist anymore,” Gandhi said.

‘We will swallow poison for unity’

In a striking statement aimed at reinforcing opposition unity, Gandhi positioned the Congress as a stabilising force within the INDIA bloc.

“We are willing to swallow all poison and take humiliation to keep the Opposition united,” he said.

His remarks were seen as an attempt to present the Congress not just as a competing party, but as an anchor for a broader anti-government coalition.

Reference to Bengal election loss

Gandhi also referred to the political outcome in West Bengal, where he claimed that the opposition failed to properly assess the ground reality.

He said that some leaders were “living in dreamland,” particularly while evaluating the situation in states like Bengal.

The reference added a new dimension to ongoing internal debates within the INDIA bloc regarding strategy and coordination ahead of future elections.

Criticism of BJP and Election Commission

Reiterating his long-standing criticism, Gandhi also targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Election Commission of India, alleging structural bias in the electoral process.

His comments come amid heightened political tensions as opposition parties attempt to consolidate their position against the ruling party.

What it means for INDIA bloc

The speech highlights growing pressure within the INDIA alliance to define a unified strategy ahead of upcoming electoral battles.

While Gandhi’s remarks underline urgency and mobilisation, they also reflect ongoing ideological and strategic differences within the coalition.
