Keeway Hypevolt-R Electric Scooter Breaks Cover at ₹1.99 Lakh: 180 km Range, 115 kmph Top Speed & ‘Superbike-Like’ Features Shake EV Market
With dual batteries, blistering acceleration, and advanced safety tech like blind spot detection and hill descent control, the Keeway Hypevolt-R enters India’s premium EV scooter segment with bold ambitions.
The Indian electric two-wheeler market just got a performance-focused newcomer. Keeway India has officially launched its flagship electric scooter, the Hypevolt-R, priced at ₹1.99 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it firmly in the premium EV category.
Bookings for the scooter are now open across Keeway’s dealership network and online, with a token amount of ₹5,000. The model will be available in two colour options—Crystal White and Platinum Grey—and deliveries are expected to begin shortly.
The Hypevolt-R is clearly designed for riders who want more than just commuting efficiency. It blends high performance with advanced technology, aiming to compete with the growing wave of premium electric scooters in India.
At the heart of the scooter is a 5.04 kWh dual removable NMC battery pack, consisting of two 72V units. Keeway claims an impressive IDC-certified range of up to 180 km on a single charge, making it suitable for both city rides and longer weekend commutes.
Powering the scooter is a mid-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor, delivering 6 kW rated power and a peak output of 12 kW, along with a strong 72 Nm torque. In Sport mode, the Hypevolt-R can sprint from 0–40 kmph in just 2.3 seconds, while topping out at a claimed 115 kmph—figures that place it among the fastest electric scooters in its segment.
Adding to convenience, the removable battery setup allows charging both on and off the scooter. Using the onboard charger, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80% in around three hours, and riders can switch between Eco, Normal, and Sport modes depending on riding conditions.

Where the Hypevolt-R truly stands out is its feature list. It comes loaded with dual-channel ABS, traction control system (TCS), hill hold control, hill descent control, intelligent cruise control, blind spot detection, and even a rear reverse camera—features rarely seen in scooters, electric or otherwise.
The scooter also features a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, OTA updates, USB Type-A and Type-C ports, reverse mode, and full LED lighting with a signature front light strip that gives it a futuristic appeal.
Built on a high-carbon steel cage frame, the scooter rides on 14-inch alloy wheels with semi-slick tubeless tyres. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and a five-step adjustable rear shock absorber, while braking is managed by disc brakes at both ends supported by dual-channel ABS.

In terms of practicality, the scooter offers a 130 mm ground clearance, 770 mm seat height, and a 1,454 mm wheelbase. Despite its feature-heavy setup, it manages a usable 140 kg kerb weight, along with 27 litres of under-seat storage.
According to Vikas Jhabakh, Managing Director of Keeway India, the Hypevolt-R has been designed for riders seeking a blend of performance, technology, and everyday usability in a single premium package.
With aggressive specs and a feature list that rivals even high-end motorcycles, the Keeway Hypevolt-R is clearly aiming to disrupt India’s evolving electric scooter market—where performance is quickly becoming just as important as range and affordability.
