Directed by Kabir Khan, Chandu Champion saw Kartik portray Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medallist. The physically demanding role required a significant transformation from the actor and emerged as one of the most acclaimed performances of his career.
Following the National Award announcement, Kartik shared an emotional message on social media, describing the achievement as a dream he had carried for years and saying he was still processing the moment.
