Karisma Kapoor Remembers Late Ex-Husband Sunjay Kapur With Emotional Tribute Amid Ongoing Estate Dispute

Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor paid an emotional tribute to her late ex-husband and industrialist Sunjay Kapur on his first death anniversary. The actor took to social media to remember him with a simple yet heartfelt post that quickly caught the attention of fans and followers.

Sharing the date of his passing, Karisma wrote, “12/06/2025. Sunjay in our hearts forever.” She accompanied the message with folded hands, a white heart, and a dove emoji, reflecting remembrance and peace.

The emotional tribute comes at a sensitive time, as the Kapoor family remains involved in an ongoing legal battle concerning Sunjay Kapur’s massive estate. Alongside Karisma’s message, Sunjay’s wife Priya Kapur also shared an emotional note in his memory. She wrote, “A year without you. Still the first thought in the morning and the last thought at night.”

The legal dispute surrounding Sunjay Kapur’s estate has become one of the most talked-about high-profile inheritance cases in recent months. Reports suggest that the matter involves assets estimated to be worth nearly Rs 30,000 crore.

According to legal proceedings, Sunjay Kapur’s children from his previous marriage with Karisma Kapoor have reportedly challenged the authenticity of his will. At the same time, Sunjay’s mother has also raised objections, claiming she was unaware of the will and disputing details related to asset disclosures.

Earlier this year, the Delhi High Court referred an application filed by Priya Kapur to the roster bench. The plea sought clarification and modification of an interim order issued on April 30 in connection with the estate dispute.

Priya Kapur reportedly requested permission to utilise funds from Sunjay Kapur’s Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) account for educational expenses related to Samaira Kapur and Kiaan Raj Kapur, the children of Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur. The application also sought approval for maintenance expenses connected to overseas properties and educational costs for another family member studying abroad.

Court documents indicate that the request covered tuition fees, boarding, lodging, travel expenses, and other educational requirements both in India and overseas.

Sunjay Kapur passed away in the United Kingdom on June 12, 2025, at the age of 53. His sudden demise shocked both the business and entertainment worlds, especially given his close ties to prominent Bollywood personalities.

Despite their separation years ago, Karisma Kapoor’s tribute reflects the personal bond and shared history the two continued to have through their children. Her message struck an emotional chord online, with many social media users offering condolences and support to the family.

As the legal proceedings continue, the case remains under close public and media attention due to the scale of the estate and the involvement of several family members.
