Delhi Weather Alert: Scorching Heat to Continue as Clouds Gather… Is Monsoon Finally Around the Corner?
The national capital may witness temperatures near 40°C over the next four days, while rising humidity and pre-monsoon activity could bring cloudy skies and isolated showers.
As June moves toward its final phase, the weather in Delhi is showing signs of change. While residents continue to battle intense summer heat, increasing cloud cover and humidity suggest that the long-awaited Southwest Monsoon may not be far away.
According to weather estimates, Delhi is expected to experience maximum temperatures ranging between 38°C and 41°C from June 15 to June 18. Minimum temperatures are likely to remain between 28°C and 31°C, keeping nights warm and humid across the city.
Daytime conditions are expected to remain harsh, with strong sunshine and hot winds making outdoor activities uncomfortable. However, evenings could feel more humid as moisture levels rise due to advancing pre-monsoon systems over North India.

Meteorologists say that pre-monsoon activity is gradually becoming more active across northern parts of the country. As a result, Delhi may witness increasing cloud movement over the coming days. Some areas could even receive light rain or brief thundershowers, though widespread rainfall remains unlikely at this stage.
The changing weather pattern is also being closely monitored by authorities, as rising temperatures and humidity can increase the risk of heat-related illnesses. Health experts advise people to stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and avoid stepping out during peak afternoon hours whenever possible.
The weather shift comes at an important time for neighboring agricultural regions in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab, where farmers are preparing for the Kharif crop season. Even light rainfall in the coming weeks could improve soil moisture and aid sowing activities.
Experts believe the Southwest Monsoon could advance further toward Delhi by the final weeks of June. Until then, residents of the national capital are likely to experience a mix of sweltering heat, sticky humidity, and occasional cloud cover.
