Cloud cover increases over Lucknow as pre-monsoon activity raises hopes for relief from the summer heat.

As June enters its final phase, the weather in Lucknow is showing signs of transition. While residents continue to grapple with high temperatures and humid conditions, increasing cloud cover suggests that the much-awaited Southwest Monsoon may be inching closer to the capital of Uttar Pradesh.

According to weather estimates, Lucknow is likely to experience maximum temperatures ranging between 38°C and 40°C from June 15 to June 18, while minimum temperatures may remain between 28°C and 30°C. The combination of intense daytime heat and rising humidity could make conditions feel even warmer.

Meteorologists say that pre-monsoon activity is gradually intensifying across North India, including large parts of Uttar Pradesh. As a result, cloud movement over Lucknow is expected to increase over the coming days, raising the possibility of light rain or brief thundershowers in isolated areas. However, widespread rainfall is not anticipated immediately.

The changing weather is particularly significant for farmers preparing for the Kharif crop season. Agricultural experts note that even light showers can improve soil moisture levels and create favorable conditions for sowing operations across the region.

Health professionals have advised residents to remain cautious as the combination of heat and humidity may increase the risk of dehydration, heat stress, and fatigue. People are encouraged to stay hydrated, wear lightweight clothing, and avoid stepping outdoors during peak afternoon hours whenever possible.

Weather scientists believe that the Southwest Monsoon is likely to advance further into northern India by the final weeks of June. Until then, Lucknow residents may have to endure a spell of humid heat, punctuated by occasional clouds and isolated showers.
