Cloud cover increases over Meerut as rising humidity and pre-monsoon activity hint at the approaching monsoon season.

With June entering its final stretch, residents of Meerut are experiencing a changing weather pattern marked by intense heat, rising humidity, and growing anticipation of the monsoon season. The coming days could bring a mix of scorching sunshine, cloudy skies, and the possibility of light rainfall.

According to weather estimates, Meerut is likely to record maximum temperatures between 38°C and 40°C from June 15 to June 18, while minimum temperatures may remain around 27°C to 30°C. The daytime heat is expected to remain severe, with warm nights offering little relief to residents.

Meteorologists say that pre-monsoon activity is gradually becoming more active across North India, including western regions of Uttar Pradesh. As a result, cloud movement over Meerut may increase during the next few days, raising the possibility of brief spells of drizzle or isolated showers. However, widespread rainfall is still unlikely in the immediate future.

The changing weather is particularly important for farmers in and around Meerut, who are preparing their fields for the Kharif crop season. Agricultural experts believe that even light rain can improve soil moisture levels and help speed up sowing operations for seasonal crops.

Health experts have urged people to take precautions against the combined effects of high temperatures and humidity. Conditions such as dehydration, heat exhaustion, and fatigue are more common during this period. Residents are advised to drink plenty of water, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, and wear light-colored clothing.

The Southwest Monsoon is expected to advance further across northern India in the coming weeks. Weather scientists believe that by late June, Meerut could begin witnessing more consistent monsoon-related activity. Until then, people in the city should be prepared for hot and humid conditions with occasional cloud cover.
