Kangana Ranaut says she holds no personal grudge against Diljit Dosanjh despite their past social media clash.

In a refreshing shift from their long-drawn public disagreement, actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has stated that she holds no personal grudge against singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, despite their widely discussed social media clash during the farmers’ protest period.

Both celebrities are currently back in the spotlight as their latest films released on the same day — Kangana’s “Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata” and Diljit Dosanjh’s “Main Vaapas Aaunga”, both hitting theatres on June 12, 2026. Interestingly, reports suggest that both films opened on a similar note at the box office, adding a new layer of comparison between the two stars.

However, amid this box office buzz, Kangana chose to address her past with Diljit in a calm and measured tone during an interview with NDTV.

The “Tanu Weds Manu” actress clarified that their earlier conflict was never personal, but rather a result of differing opinions on a sensitive public issue.

“We are not against each other. We just had contradictory opinions about a certain event. I’ve got nothing against that guy. We’ve never even met in life,” Kangana said.

Her statement marks a notable softening of tone compared to the heated exchanges that unfolded between the two during the 2020–2021 farmers’ protest, when both actors publicly clashed on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

When asked whether she would ever meet Diljit Dosanjh, Kangana responded positively, saying, “Why not?” However, she laughed off the idea of personally messaging him to appreciate his performance, joking, “That’s too much, na?”

The controversy between the two originally began when Kangana shared a post related to an elderly woman protester, which was later corrected and widely debated online. Diljit had publicly countered her claims, identifying the woman as Mahinder Kaur, a farmer from Punjab, leading to a sharp exchange between the two celebrities.

At one point, Kangana had even referred to Diljit in strong terms on social media, while Diljit continued to respond with videos and posts defending his position. The episode quickly escalated into one of the most talked-about celebrity disputes of that period.

Despite that history, Kangana’s latest remarks suggest she is unwilling to carry forward any personal bitterness. Her statement that they have “never even met in life” also highlights how public perception often amplifies online disagreements between celebrities.

Meanwhile, both stars are now focused on their respective releases. “Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata” and “Main Vaapas Aaunga” have entered theatres simultaneously, drawing audience attention and industry curiosity over their box office performance.

As both films begin their theatrical journey, Kangana’s comments appear to close an old chapter — replacing controversy with calm acknowledgment and a clear distinction between professional differences and personal relationships.
