The actress confirms her role as Mandodari will have limited screen time in the first instalment but says being part of Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious epic is a dream come true.
Mumbai: Actress Kajal Aggarwal has shared fresh insights into her role in the much-awaited Ramayana, confirming that her character, Mandodari, will have a relatively limited presence in the first instalment of the epic two-part film.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana is one of the biggest Indian film projects currently in production. Despite her brief appearance in the first chapter, Kajal said she feels privileged to be associated with a story that holds deep cultural and emotional significance.
‘A wonderful experience despite limited screen time’
Speaking about the project, Kajal acknowledged that her role in the first film may not be extensive, but said the experience of working on such a grand production has been immensely rewarding.
According to the actress, the film’s scale and global appeal make it a landmark project for everyone involved.”It’s been wonderful. It’s been an amazing experience to be part of something on such a grand scale that has the potential to reach audiences across the world. It’s a fantastic feeling, and I’m truly grateful to be part of something so close to our hearts,” Kajal said.

Kajal also spoke highly of her co-star Yash, who essays the role of Ravana in the film.

Diwali releases planned
The makers have planned Ramayana as a two-part cinematic saga.
The first instalment is scheduled to release in theatres during Diwali 2026, while the second chapter is set to arrive in Diwali 2027.
Apart from Ramayana, Kajal Aggarwal is also gearing up for the release of her upcoming drama thriller, The India Story, which is slated to hit cinemas on July 24.
