Blatant Violation of Peace Deal… Iran Fires Back at US After Strikes, Gulf Tensions Spiral Again

Tensions between United States Central Command and Iran have escalated sharply once again, after Tehran accused Washington of violating a fragile peace arrangement meant to end hostilities in the Middle East.

Iran strongly condemned recent US airstrikes on its territory, calling them a “blatant violation” of the agreement signed to halt the conflict. The statement came after a new round of military exchanges between both sides, raising fresh concerns over the stability of the Gulf region and global shipping routes.

According to the US side, the strikes targeted Iranian missile and drone storage facilities as well as coastal radar installations. Washington defended the action, saying it was a direct response to what it described as “unwarranted aggression against commercial shipping” allegedly carried out by Iranian forces.

US officials further claimed that Iran’s actions had already breached the ceasefire, forcing a defensive response to protect maritime security and international trade routes passing through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most sensitive oil corridors.

However, Iran rejected these claims outright. The Iranian foreign ministry accused the US of escalating tensions deliberately and undermining diplomatic efforts to restore long-term stability.

“These brutal attacks… are a blatant violation of the memorandum of understanding to end the war,” the ministry said, directly blaming Washington for destabilising the situation.

At the same time, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps confirmed retaliatory strikes on US-linked positions in the Gulf. In a strongly worded message circulated via state media channels, the Guards warned that any further aggression would be met with an even more powerful response.

“If the aggression is repeated, our response will be broader than this,” the statement said, signalling the possibility of further escalation if tensions continue.

Meanwhile, maritime authorities have raised concerns over continued vessel movement through the region, despite warnings issued by Iran regarding navigation in and out of the Gulf without prior permission. Reports indicate that ships are still using alternate or unapproved routes, increasing the risk of miscalculation at sea.

With both sides standing firm and accusations intensifying, the situation has once again pushed the region into uncertainty. Analysts warn that continued exchanges could threaten not only regional stability but also global energy supply chains dependent on safe passage through the Gulf.
