US Strikes Iran Again Near Tehran as Tensions Escalate… Kuwait, Jordan Targeted in Latest Wave of Attacks
American forces hit Iranian military positions and disable oil tanker in Strait of Hormuz, while Tehran-linked attacks raise fears of a wider regional conflict.
Washington: The conflict between the United States and Iran has entered a more intense phase as US military forces continue carrying out strikes on Iranian targets, including locations closer to the capital Tehran for the first time in the latest wave of hostilities.
According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), American forces conducted operations against multiple Iranian military sites and assets aimed at reducing Tehran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping and maritime security in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.

The US military said the strikes were focused on weakening Iran’s capabilities that could pose a threat to international vessels passing through one of the world’s most critical energy routes. CENTCOM also confirmed that an oil tanker in the waterway was disabled during the operation.
The latest attacks mark a significant escalation, as previous strikes were largely focused on specific military facilities, while the new operations have reportedly moved closer to Iran’s central regions, including areas near Tehran.

The US administration has maintained that its military actions are aimed at protecting American interests, regional allies, and freedom of navigation, while Iran has continued to respond with attacks and warnings against further escalation.
