iPhone 18 Pro launch next month? Price may cross Rs 1.4 lakh in India… here’s everything the leaks suggest
Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to bring a smaller Dynamic Island, a new-generation A20 Pro chip and potentially higher prices in India, although Apple is yet to confirm any details.
Apple could be just weeks away from unveiling its next generation of Pro iPhones, and if the latest leaks are accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro series may bring more than the usual performance and camera upgrades.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to launch later this year, with reports pointing to changes in the display area, a new chip manufacturing process and potentially higher Indian pricing.
Apple has not officially confirmed the new models, their specifications or their prices. So, for now, the information remains based on leaks and industry reports.
But there is already one detail likely to grab the attention of Indian buyers: the price.
iPhone 18 Pro price in India: Could it start at Rs 1,39,900?
The iPhone 18 Pro could reportedly become more expensive in India.
According to current reports, the base model may start at approximately Rs 1,39,900, which would represent an increase of around Rs 5,000 over the launch price of the iPhone 17 Pro.
The reported pricing could rise further depending on storage.
A 256GB iPhone 18 Pro is tipped to cost approximately Rs 1,44,900, while the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max could reportedly start at around Rs 1,54,900.
If these figures turn out to be accurate, Apple’s Pro Max model would move even deeper into premium smartphone territory, while the entry-level Pro would come dangerously close to the Rs 1.4 lakh psychological price barrier.
Why could the iPhone 18 Pro become more expensive?
One possible reason is the rising cost of memory components.
Demand from AI companies and data-centre operators has put pressure on the memory supply chain, potentially increasing component costs for consumer electronics manufacturers.
Apple has already increased the prices of some products in India, including certain configurations of the iPad Air and MacBook Air.
However, the company has not confirmed that the same pricing strategy will apply to the upcoming iPhone range.
The final Indian price will ultimately depend on Apple’s launch strategy, component costs, taxes and currency-related factors.
iPhone 18 Pro display: Smaller Dynamic Island reportedly coming
Apple is not expected to dramatically change the screen sizes of the Pro models.
The iPhone 18 Pro is tipped to retain a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max could continue with a 6.9-inch panel.
The more noticeable change may happen at the top of the screen.
Reports suggest Apple is working on a smaller Dynamic Island, potentially reducing its size by as much as 35%.
If implemented, the change would give the front of the iPhone a cleaner appearance while still retaining the hardware required for Face ID and the front-facing camera system.
It would not be a complete disappearance of the Dynamic Island, but rather a significant reduction in its footprint.
A20 Pro chip could bring a major efficiency boost
Performance is expected to receive a substantial upgrade through Apple’s next-generation A20 Pro chipset.
Reports suggest Apple could use TSMC’s 2nm manufacturing process for the new processor.
Moving to a smaller manufacturing node could allow Apple to improve both performance and power efficiency.
Some leaks have claimed that the A20 Pro could deliver up to 15% better performance while improving power efficiency by as much as 30%.
However, these figures should be treated cautiously.
Apple has not announced the A20 Pro, and benchmark results or official performance claims will only become available once the company unveils the new hardware.
What about the cameras?
Camera improvements are also expected, although detailed specifications remain uncertain.

Apple’s Pro models have traditionally received some of the company’s most advanced camera hardware, and the iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to continue that approach.
However, compared with the reported Dynamic Island and chip changes, the camera details remain less clear in current leaks.
More information could emerge closer to Apple’s launch event.
When will the iPhone 18 Pro launch?
Apple has not officially announced a launch date for the iPhone 18 Pro series.
However, the company has traditionally unveiled its flagship iPhones around September, making a September 2026 launch window widely expected.

The Pro models would likely be accompanied by the next generation of standard iPhones, although Apple’s exact product strategy will only become clear when it makes an official announcement.
Should you wait for the iPhone 18 Pro?
For existing iPhone users who are not in a hurry to upgrade, waiting could make sense.
The combination of a potentially smaller Dynamic Island, a new 2nm-based A20 Pro chip and improved power efficiency could make the iPhone 18 Pro a meaningful upgrade over previous generations.
The biggest concern for Indian buyers could be the price.
If the reported Rs 1,39,900 starting price turns out to be accurate, Apple’s next Pro iPhone will become even more expensive in a market where premium smartphone buyers already have plenty of alternatives.
For now, however, it is important to remember that Apple has confirmed none of these specifications or prices.
The real details will only be known when Apple officially introduces the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
Note: Pricing, specifications, launch timing and performance figures mentioned above are based on leaks and reports and should not be considered official until confirmed by Apple.
