While the horror sequel failed to match the lifetime collections of the original ‘Haunted 3D’, it managed to emerge as a financially profitable venture thanks to its controlled production budget.
Released on June 12, the film enjoyed a promising start before witnessing a gradual decline in collections during its theatrical run.
Solid Start at the Box Office
Directed by Vikram Bhatt, the horror thriller opened with an estimated ₹2.5 crore on its first day, benefiting from nostalgia surrounding the 2011 original and strong pre-release curiosity among horror fans.
Although the film received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics and struggled with word-of-mouth after its opening weekend, it managed to maintain a steady run before concluding its theatrical journey.
According to trade estimates, ‘Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past’ finished with an India net collection of ₹18.7 crore, while its gross domestic collection stood at approximately ₹22.06 crore.

Despite delivering a respectable performance, the sequel could not surpass the box office record of the original ‘Haunted 3D’, which had reportedly earned ₹26.39 crore net during its theatrical run.
Even so, the sequel benefited from disciplined budgeting, allowing it to recover costs and generate profits.
Profitable Venture for the Makers
Made on an estimated budget of ₹15 crore, the film reportedly earned a return on investment (ROI) of ₹3.7 crore, translating to an approximate 24.66% return.
The positive ROI has helped the film secure a successful financial outcome despite missing major box office milestones.
