‘Puppet of Foreign Powers’: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey Demands SIT Probe Into Rahul Gandhi’s Foreign Visits, Seeks LoP Removal

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Monday launched a sharp attack on Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, demanding a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the Congress leader’s foreign visits and calling for efforts to remove him from the post of Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha.

Dubey’s remarks came as several Opposition MPs staged a protest at Makar Dwar in Parliament over the alleged police action against students demonstrating against the alleged NEET paper leak and other examination-related irregularities. The Opposition leaders held banners seeking accountability from Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the incident.

Dubey Questions Rahul Gandhi’s Overseas Visits

Responding to questions about the Opposition’s protest, Dubey shifted the focus to Rahul Gandhi’s foreign visits, alleging that there had been no transparency regarding his international travel over the past two decades.

According to Dubey, several questions remain unanswered about Rahul Gandhi’s visits abroad, including whom he met, the issues he discussed and whether any foreign funding or external influence was involved.

The BJP MP also referred to previous allegations involving financier George Soros and questioned the 2008 understanding between the Indian National Congress and the Communist Party of China, claiming these issues had never been adequately explained.

Calls for SIT Investigation and LoP Removal

Dubey argued that, as the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi holds a constitutional position that carries significant responsibility while representing India abroad.

He alleged that instead of presenting India’s policies during overseas engagements, Rahul Gandhi had consistently criticised the country, the government and the Constitution.

The BJP leader said he would urge the Union government to constitute an SIT to investigate Rahul Gandhi’s foreign visits and would also make efforts to initiate discussions on removing him from the post of Leader of the Opposition.

Sharp Political Allegations

Escalating his criticism, Dubey alleged that the Congress party was using protests to divert attention from what he described as activities that were “detrimental to the country’s interests.”

He further accused Rahul Gandhi of acting under the influence of foreign powers, making a series of political allegations against the Congress leader. These remarks were made in the course of a political exchange and have not been substantiated with evidence in the statements released on Monday.

Opposition Protest Over Student Issues

The controversy unfolded as Opposition MPs protested inside the Parliament complex over the alleged police action during demonstrations by students demanding accountability over the alleged NEET paper leak and other examination-related concerns.

The Opposition has been seeking answers from the government over the handling of student protests, while the BJP has accused the Congress of attempting to politicise the issue.

The political confrontation is expected to continue during the ongoing Parliament session as both the ruling party and the Opposition intensify their attacks over a range of national issues.
