PM Modi & Trump ‘Think Alike’… US Envoy Drops Big Remark on Leadership Chemistry Between India & America
US Ambassador Sergio Gor says ties between Narendra Modi and Donald Trump remain strong, calling their leadership styles “hands-on, fast, and results-driven.”
In a strong diplomatic message reinforcing India–US relations, the US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump share striking similarities in leadership style and decision-making approach.
Gor dismissed any speculation about tensions in bilateral relations, stressing that the foundation of India–US ties remains solid and stable. According to him, the personal rapport between the two leaders continues to act as a key driving force behind diplomatic engagement.
“One of the big anchors to that relationship is the relationship between the president and the prime minister that has always remained strong,” Gor said, underlining the continuity in high-level communication between the two nations.

He further described both leaders as highly “hands-on”, emphasizing that they prefer direct involvement in decision-making and are focused on delivering quick, measurable outcomes.
“In a way, I see a lot of similarities between him and President Trump, because they both love being hands-on and getting things done and accomplishing things fast,” he noted.
Gor explained that both leaders operate with a similar mindset—if they decide something needs to be done, they push it forward without delay. According to him, this shared approach is one of the key reasons their relationship works so effectively.

“If PM Modi wants something done, he moves on it, and Trump is the same way,” Gor remarked, highlighting what he described as a mutual understanding between the two leaders.
He also emphasized that India–US relations are currently in a strong phase, supported by regular engagement at the highest levels. Continuous communication, he said, has helped maintain stability and trust even during global uncertainties.
“I think we’re in a great place,” Gor added, reinforcing optimism about the future direction of the partnership.
Diplomatic observers say such remarks from a sitting US envoy underline the importance Washington places on its relationship with New Delhi, especially at a time when global alliances are constantly evolving.
