As Thalapathy Vijay’s much-awaited film Jana Nayagan arrives in theatres, the superstar’s impressive financial empire has once again become a major talking point. The actor-turned-politician’s election affidavit has offered a rare glimpse into his wealth, revealing total assets worth ₹624 crore, making him one of the wealthiest celebrities in Indian politics.

The affidavit, submitted ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections, shows that the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief has declared ₹404 crore in movable assets and ₹220 crore in immovable assets. The filing also states that his wife, Sangeetha Vijay, owns assets worth ₹15.76 crore.

Massive Bank Deposits and Investments

According to the financial disclosure, Thalapathy Vijay has movable assets valued at more than ₹404.58 crore. These include bank balances, fixed deposits, investments, and loans extended to family members.

One of the most striking details in the affidavit is a deposit of over ₹213.36 crore in an Indian Overseas Bank account located in Saligramam.

Apart from this, the actor has fixed deposits across leading banks, including State Bank of India, HDFC Bank, and Axis Bank.

His investment portfolio also includes holdings in several companies such as Sun Paper Mill Ltd., Indian Overseas Bank, and Jaya Nagar Property Pvt. Ltd.

The affidavit further mentions loans and financial advances given to close family members, including Jason Sanjay, Divya Saasha, and Sangeetha Vijay.

Luxury Car Collection Reflects His Star Status

Known for his understated public image, Vijay owns an enviable collection of premium vehicles.

His garage includes:

The actor has also declared ownership of 883 grams of gold and silver jewellery, adding to his lifestyle assets.

The affidavit values Vijay’s immovable assets at approximately ₹220.15 crore, spread across multiple locations in Tamil Nadu.

His real estate portfolio includes residential, commercial, and agricultural properties.

Among his notable holdings are agricultural land in Vattapatti near Kodaikanal, along with non-agricultural properties in Porur, Saligramam, and Neelankarai.

He also owns commercial properties in Parivakkam, Thyagaraya Nagar, Sholinganallur, and Koppur, while several of his residential properties are located in upscale Chennai neighbourhoods such as Mylapore, Egmore, Neelankarai, and Saligramam.

Zero Debt and ₹184 Crore Annual Income

Perhaps the biggest surprise in the financial disclosure is that Thalapathy Vijay has reported zero liabilities, indicating that he has no outstanding loans or borrowings from financial institutions.

For the 2024–25 financial year, the actor-politician declared a total income of ₹184.53 crore through his income tax return.

The affidavit states that his earnings primarily come from self-employment, along with interest income, investments, and rental returns from his extensive property portfolio.
