Tata Punch Continues With Same Engine Options
Despite the price increase, Tata Motors has not made any mechanical changes to the Punch lineup.
The SUV continues to be offered with three powertrain choices:
1.2-litre Turbo Petrol Engine
The turbo-petrol version produces 118 bhp of power and comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
This engine option is aimed at buyers who want stronger performance and quicker acceleration compared to the standard petrol version.
1.2-litre Revotron Petrol Engine
The naturally aspirated petrol engine delivers 86.6 bhp and is available with:
- 5-speed manual gearbox
- AMT automatic transmission
This variant remains one of the most popular choices among urban buyers due to its balance of efficiency and easy driving experience.
CNG Powertrain Option
The CNG version uses the same 1.2-litre engine but produces 72.4 bhp.
It is available with:
- 5-speed manual transmission
- AMT gearbox option
The CNG variants continue to attract customers looking for lower running costs without moving away from SUV styling.

Tata Updates Prices Across Other Models Too
The price revision is not limited only to the Punch. Tata Motors has also updated prices for other vehicles in its portfolio, including popular SUVs such as the Tata Nexon and Tata Safari.
The company regularly adjusts vehicle prices due to changing input costs, production expenses, and market conditions.
Will the Price Hike Affect Tata Punch Demand?
The Tata Punch has established itself as one of the strongest sellers in India’s compact SUV segment, competing with models from brands like Hyundai Motor India and Maruti Suzuki India.
While the latest increase is relatively small compared to the overall vehicle price, buyers looking for a budget-friendly SUV may still consider the revised pricing before making a purchase decision.
With its compact size, high ground clearance, multiple fuel options and strong safety image, the Tata Punch continues to remain an important model for Tata Motors in India’s growing SUV market.
