Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition Arrives in India at ₹3.99 Lakh… But What Really Changed Under the Skin?
The new Tuono 457 Special Edition gets exclusive styling, revised ergonomics and suspension updates, while keeping the same powerful twin-cylinder engine
Italian motorcycle manufacturer Aprilia has expanded its performance motorcycle lineup in India with the launch of the new Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition.
Priced at ₹3.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the latest version of Aprilia’s streetfighter motorcycle focuses more on improving everyday usability and adding visual appeal rather than introducing major mechanical changes.
While the engine and core hardware remain unchanged, the Special Edition brings a revised riding setup, exclusive graphics and subtle updates aimed at making the motorcycle more comfortable for daily riding as well as longer journeys.
What Makes Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition Different?
At first glance, the Tuono 457 Special Edition looks familiar, but Aprilia has added several design elements to separate it from the standard model.
The motorcycle gets a unique graphics package inspired by the larger Tuono family, giving it a more premium appearance.
It will be available in two colour options:
- Mamba Black
- Puma Gray
The biggest functional change comes in the riding position. Aprilia has equipped the Special Edition with a taller handlebar setup along with revised suspension tuning.
These changes are designed to provide a more upright and relaxed riding posture, making the motorcycle easier to handle during city commutes and extended highway rides.

Features and Technology Remain Unchanged
Apart from the styling and ergonomic updates, the Tuono 457 Special Edition continues with the same feature package as the standard motorcycle.
The bike comes equipped with:
- Full LED lighting
- Five-inch TFT instrument display
- Smartphone connectivity
- Selectable riding modes
- Traction control
- Dual-channel ABS
These features place the Tuono 457 among the more technologically advanced motorcycles in the middleweight performance segment.

Engine, Performance and Top Speed
The Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition continues to use the same 457cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine.
The motor produces:
- 47.6 hp of power
- 43.5 Nm of torque
The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch for smoother downshifts and improved control during aggressive riding.
Since there are no changes to the engine or gearing, performance remains identical to the regular Tuono 457.
The motorcycle can achieve an estimated top speed of around 190 kmph, making it a capable machine for both spirited riding and highway cruising.
Chassis and Suspension Setup
The mechanical foundation of the motorcycle remains unchanged.
The Tuono 457 Special Edition continues with:
- Aluminium frame
- Upside-down front forks
- Rear monoshock suspension
- Disc brakes on both wheels
The revised suspension tuning, however, is expected to slightly improve comfort and everyday ride quality.
Should You Buy the Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition?
The Tuono 457 Special Edition is not a completely new motorcycle, but it brings meaningful improvements for riders who want a more comfortable riding experience along with exclusive styling.
For buyers who frequently ride in traffic or spend long hours on highways, the taller handlebar and updated suspension setup could make a noticeable difference.
However, those expecting extra power or major performance upgrades may find the changes limited, as the engine, electronics and chassis remain identical to the standard version.
Ultimately, the decision comes down to personal preference — whether the updated ergonomics and special-edition design justify choosing it over the regular Tuono 457.
With its premium Italian styling, strong twin-cylinder performance and improved comfort-focused setup, the Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition adds another exciting option for motorcycle enthusiasts in India’s growing performance bike market.
