Italian performance motorcycle brand Aprilia has officially launched the Tuono 457 Special Edition in India, priced at an introductory ₹3.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). Based on the standard Tuono 457, the new version focuses less on mechanical changes and more on comfort, usability, and everyday riding refinement.
Bookings for the motorcycle have already begun at select dealerships across the country, signalling strong interest in Aprilia’s growing mid-capacity lineup.
A sharper look with a nod to heritage
The special edition brings subtle but meaningful cosmetic upgrades. Buyers can choose from two new paint schemes — Mamba Black and Puma Grey — both featuring refreshed graphics inspired by the iconic Tuono 1000R (2006).
Adding to the aggressive streetfighter stance is a smoked aerodynamic flyscreen positioned above the headlamp, giving the motorcycle a more premium and purposeful road presence.
Despite the visual tweaks, the core identity of the Tuono remains intact — sharp, minimal, and unmistakably Italian.

Comfort takes centre stage this time
Where the special edition truly differentiates itself is in ergonomics. Aprilia has clearly tuned this version for Indian riding conditions, where comfort often matters as much as performance.
Key changes include a taller handlebar for a more upright riding posture, reducing long-ride fatigue, and a redesigned seat with high-resilience foam aimed at better support and vibration absorption.
Suspension has also been retuned with a softer initial stroke, making it more forgiving over potholes and uneven roads. Both front and rear setups now offer preload adjustability, allowing riders to fine-tune the ride quality.
A revised compression damping setup further enhances stability on rough terrain — a crucial upgrade for Indian highways and city traffic alike.

Mechanically, the motorcycle remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 457cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine, delivering:

The performance character remains aggressive, ensuring the Tuono 457 still behaves like a true streetfighter when pushed hard.
