Taapsee Pannu says playing an Indian version of Wonder Woman remains one of her biggest dream roles.

Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu has built her career by choosing unconventional and challenging roles, often stepping away from formula-driven mainstream cinema. Now, the actress has revealed a dream role that she has carried for years playing an Indian superhero on the big screen.

Speaking about her long-term ambition, Taapsee Pannu shared that she has always imagined herself as part of a grand cinematic universe, similar to Hollywood’s The Avengers.

The actress said she would love to portray an Indian version of Wonder Woman, calling it one of her biggest creative aspirations.

According to Taapsee, the idea of playing a strong, powerful, and action-driven female superhero deeply excites her, especially in an Indian setting where such stories are still rare.

However, the actress also pointed out the biggest hurdle standing in the way scale.

She acknowledged that while India has immense storytelling potential, the technological capabilities and budgets needed to build a convincing superhero universe still lag far behind Hollywood standards. Taapsee admitted that the kind of production value seen in international superhero films is currently difficult to match in India.

Despite that, she remains hopeful that one day Indian cinema will evolve enough to create homegrown superhero stories on that scale.

Over the years, Taapsee Pannu has proven her versatility by taking on a wide range of roles across genres. From the courtroom drama Pink to the mystery thriller Badla, and from the romantic drama Manmarziyaan to the suspense-filled Haseen Dillruba, the actress has consistently showcased her ability to adapt.

On the work front, Taapsee is next set to appear in Gandhari, which will release on Netflix. Fans are already curious to see her in yet another intense role.

She was last seen in Assi, a courtroom drama directed by Anubhav Sinha, which hit screens earlier this year and featured a strong ensemble cast including Kani Kusruti, Revathy, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.

While the wait for an Indian superhero universe continues, one thing is clear if that day comes, Taapsee Pannu already knows exactly where she wants to fit in.
