In a candid and timely intervention, former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has urged the Indian cricket establishment to take a definitive call on the future of two of its greatest modern-day batters — Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli — with the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup looming on the horizon.

The debate surrounding the duo has only intensified since India’s heartbreaking loss in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Final, where the Men in Blue fell short against Australia. Despite the passage of time, uncertainty continues to cloud the long-term plans of the team management.
