Rashmika Mandanna reveals painful hip injury during Mysaa Shoot: “It’s the most aggressive Film I’ve ever done”
The actress shares details of her recovery after suffering a hip tendon injury while filming a dance sequence, assuring fans that she is healing well despite being forced to take a break.
Mumbai: Actress Rashmika Mandanna has opened up about the hip injury she sustained while shooting for her upcoming action thriller Mysaa, ending days of speculation surrounding her absence from social media.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the actress shared an update on her health, revealing that she suffered a detached tendon in her right hip during a dance sequence for the film. Despite the injury, Rashmika reassured her fans that she is recovering well and remains optimistic.
‘This Is My Third Injury Back-to-Back’
Sharing candid glimpses from her recovery at home, including selfies, time with her pet dogs, puzzles and gifts from loved ones, Rashmika admitted that the recent injury has forced her to slow down.“Injuries suck… I was really hoping that no one would get to know. This is my third injury back-to-back. I should definitely learn to treat my body like a human body and not some machine,” she wrote.
The actress explained that one of the tendons connecting her right hip to her leg had detached, making it difficult to lift her leg until it heals completely.
‘Mysaa Is the Most Aggressive Film I’ve Ever Done’
Rashmika revealed that the injury occurred while filming a dance sequence for Mysaa, calling the project the most physically demanding film of her career.“One of the tendons on my right hip had detached, and it has to attach again for me to be able to lift my leg. This happened during my dance shoot for Mysaa. My God, that’s the most aggressive film I’ve ever done for sure!” she shared.
While acknowledging the pain, the actress assured fans that the injury is manageable and that she is focusing on recovery.
Forced Break from Workouts
The actress also admitted that being unable to exercise has been one of the biggest challenges during her recovery.
Known for maintaining a disciplined fitness routine, Rashmika joked that without workouts she has become a “dessert monster”, as she now spends more time enjoying sweets while recovering.

She also described the unexpected break as perhaps nature’s way of reminding her to rest after a hectic schedule.

The film marks Rashmika Mandanna’s first female-led pan-India action film and is expected to feature India’s first female-led underwater fight sequence, according to the makers.
The first-look poster, released in July 2025, showcased the actress in a fierce avatar, covered in blood and holding a weapon, hinting at an intense action-packed narrative.
Mysaa is slated for a 2026 theatrical release, with the official release date and teaser expected to be announced in the coming months.
Recent Work
Rashmika was last seen in Cocktail 2, directed by Homi Adajania, alongside Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. The romantic drama received mixed reviews but performed well at the global box office, reportedly earning over ₹140 crore worldwide.
As she continues her recovery, the actress has assured fans that she will keep them updated and is looking forward to returning to work once she is fully fit.
