Ranbir Kapoor had no manager or entourage on Sanju sets? Rajkumar Hirani reveals surprising detail

At a time when Bollywood’s growing entourage culture has become a hot topic of debate, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani has revealed a refreshing story about Ranbir Kapoor that is now winning hearts online.

According to Hirani, Ranbir worked through the entire shoot of Sanju without a manager or a large entourage — something increasingly rare in the film industry today.

In a recent interview, Hirani opened up about his experience working with actors who kept things simple and professional, naming stars like Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Dutt, Aamir Khan, and Ranbir Kapoor.

Recalling the making of Sanju, Hirani said he completed the entire film without ever needing to know who Ranbir’s manager was.

That’s because there wasn’t one involved.

Instead, Ranbir handled everything himself.

The director revealed that every assistant director on the film had Ranbir’s personal contact number, and whenever there was any requirement or change in schedule, the actor would directly coordinate with the team.

No middlemen. No complicated communication chain.

In an industry where stars often operate through layers of management, Ranbir’s hands-on approach has surprised many.

Hirani admitted that while he frequently hears stories about actors arriving with large teams and complex demands, he never faced such issues with Ranbir.

This isn’t the first time someone from the industry has spoken about Ranbir’s grounded nature.

Earlier, actor Srinath Maganti, who worked with him on Animal, had also shared similar experiences.

According to Srinath, Ranbir doesn’t bring a massive entourage to his sets. Instead, a tray filled with snacks, chocolates, biscuits and healthy refreshments is usually kept nearby — but not just for him.

The actor said the food is meant for everyone around him, including the crew.

He even recalled a moment when someone joked that the snacks were reserved for Ranbir, only for the actor to immediately step in and tell him to eat freely.

Srinath described Ranbir as warm, approachable and someone who makes everyone on set feel comfortable.

Professionally, Ranbir is now entering one of the busiest phases of his career.

He will next be seen as Lord Ram in Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, alongside Sai Pallavi as Sita.

The film also stars Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.

The first part of the epic is set for Diwali 2026, while the second installment is scheduled for Diwali 2027.

Apart from that, Ranbir also has Love and War with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, along with Animal Park in the pipeline.

And if these stories are anything to go by, he’ll likely keep it all just as simple.
