Prince Yadav’s Dream India Debut Ends in Heartbreak, But One Last-Ball Six Creates History…
Despite India’s narrow one-run defeat to Ireland, debutant Prince Yadav etched his name into the record books by smashing a six off the very first ball of his T20I career.
A Debut to Remember for Prince Yadav
India may have suffered a heartbreaking one-run loss against Ireland in the second T20I in Belfast, but the match will be remembered for a special moment produced by debutant Prince Yadav.
The young Delhi pacer, who earned his maiden international call-up after an impressive IPL 2026 campaign with Lucknow Super Giants, showcased both his bowling talent and fearless attitude on the biggest stage.
While the result did not go India’s way under captain Shreyas Iyer, Prince walked away with a remarkable achievement that very few Indian cricketers can claim.
History Created With His Very First Ball
Coming in to bat at No. 11 during a tense chase, Prince Yadav faced the final delivery of India’s innings. With pressure at its peak and the match hanging in the balance, the debutant showed no signs of nerves.

Facing Harry Tector, Prince launched the very first ball of his T20 International career over the boundary for a stunning six.
That single shot instantly placed him in an exclusive club.
Prince became only the third Indian cricketer in history to hit a six off the first ball he faced in T20 International cricket.
Joining Elite Company
Before Prince Yadav, only two Indian batters had achieved the rare feat.
The first was Suryakumar Yadav, who announced his arrival in international cricket by smashing Jofra Archer for a first-ball six during his debut T20I against England in Ahmedabad in March 2021.
The second was Ramandeep Singh, who repeated the achievement against South Africa in Centurion in November 2024 when he dispatched Andile Simelane over the ropes with his first delivery.
Now, Prince Yadav has added his name alongside those stars, further highlighting the memorable nature of his debut.
Impressive Performance With the Ball
The historic six was only part of Prince’s impressive outing.

Earlier in the match, the right-arm fast bowler delivered a standout spell, finishing with figures of 3/22 from four overs. His disciplined bowling helped keep India in the contest and earned praise from teammates and cricket experts alike.
The performance justified the faith shown in him by the selectors and demonstrated why he was regarded as one of the most exciting emerging fast bowlers in domestic cricket and the IPL.
A Bright Future Ahead
Although India narrowly missed victory, Prince Yadav’s debut offered plenty of positives for the visitors.
The combination of a three-wicket haul and a record-breaking first-ball six is a rare accomplishment for any debutant. More importantly, it revealed a player capable of performing under pressure.
At just the beginning of his international journey, Prince has already produced a moment that Indian cricket fans are unlikely to forget anytime soon.
The result may have gone in Ireland’s favour, but the night also belonged to a fearless newcomer who turned his first international delivery into a piece of cricketing history.
