Prakash Raj in Legal Trouble? Bengaluru Court Issues Non Bailable Warrant Over ‘Four Voter IDs’ Across Three States
The multilingual actor faces serious allegations of holding multiple voter identity cards in Karnataka, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu, with the court taking strict action after repeated absences.
Veteran actor Prakash Raj has landed in fresh legal trouble after a Bengaluru court issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against him over allegations of possessing four voter identity cards registered across three different states.
The order was passed by the 48th Magistrate Court in Bengaluru following a complaint filed by K. Dileep Kumar, a resident of Sheshadripuram.
According to the complaint, Prakash Raj is accused of holding voter ID cards in Karnataka, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu, which could amount to a violation of election laws.
The complaint specifically claims that the actor has one voter ID registered in Shantinagar in Karnataka, another in Serilingampally in Telangana, and two separate voter IDs linked to the Velachery Assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu.

Under Indian election rules, an individual is permitted to be enrolled as a voter in only one constituency. Possessing multiple voter IDs can invite legal consequences if proven.
The court noted that Prakash Raj had failed to appear before it despite being served summons on three separate occasions. Observing repeated non-compliance, the magistrate decided to issue a non-bailable warrant to secure his presence.
In an earlier submission, the police informed the court that they had been unable to trace the actor.

However, the case has taken another twist after allegations surfaced that Prakash Raj was publicly present in Bengaluru on June 18 during a press conference, where he was reportedly given police security by the Cubbon Park Police.
This has raised questions over why the court notice was not served to him despite his public appearance.
The latest development could pave the way for further legal proceedings, including the possibility of arrest if the warrant is executed.
Prakash Raj, known for his outspoken views on political and social issues, has often been at the centre of public debates. However, this case shifts the focus from politics to legal scrutiny.
As the matter unfolds, all eyes will now be on the actor’s next move and whether he responds to the court’s order in the coming days.
