Nearly ten years after that memorable exchange, Nick has finally shared the first message he sent to Priyanka, giving fans an intimate glimpse into how one of the entertainment industry’s most admired couples first connected.
During a recent appearance on the Hey Jonas podcast, the couple revisited the moment that changed their lives forever. Nick recalled that his curiosity about Priyanka began after his brother, Kevin Jonas, introduced him to the actress’s Hollywood series Quantico.
According to Nick, Kevin pointed out a billboard promoting the show and encouraged him to check it out. Intrigued, Nick searched for Priyanka on Twitter, now known as X, and discovered that she followed him.
That discovery gave him the confidence to send a message that would eventually lead to a lifelong relationship.
The now-famous DM read:
“Hello, I have heard from a few people that we should meet. I have to agree with these people. Are you in LA anytime soon?”
Priyanka responded warmly, suggesting they move the conversation away from Twitter.
She replied that their mutual friend Graham had spoken highly of Nick before adding that it would be better to continue their conversation through private text messages because her social media accounts were managed by her team.
A Careful Beginning Before Romance
Priyanka also revealed an amusing detail from their early conversations.
She said Nick wanted confirmation that he was actually talking to her and requested a real-time photograph with a timestamp. Rather than finding it strange, Priyanka appreciated his cautious approach and happily sent the picture after attending a fashion event.
The actress laughed while remembering that she looked particularly good that day, making the request even easier to fulfil.
Although their conversations started soon after, romance did not blossom overnight.
The couple revealed that they continued texting for nearly one and a half years before officially beginning their relationship. Their friendship gradually evolved into love, eventually leading to an engagement and a grand wedding.

The conversation soon shifted from romance to entertainment, with Priyanka making a surprising revelation about her husband’s fascination with Bollywood.
She joked that Nick often knows more about the latest developments in the Hindi film industry than she does herself.
According to Priyanka, there have been moments when she casually mentioned someone’s partner while texting friends, only for Nick to remind her that the couple had already separated.

Calling the industry one of the most exciting creative spaces in the world, he said he enjoys following stories involving filmmakers, actors and writers, describing the conversations surrounding Bollywood as endlessly entertaining.
Celebrating Indian Culture From Afar
Priyanka also praised Nick for embracing her Indian roots.
She shared a touching story from this year’s Holi celebrations, explaining that while she was away in India shooting a film, Nick organised a Holi gathering at their home.
He invited friends, arranged Indian food and carefully planned the celebration despite Priyanka not being present.
The actress admitted she experienced serious FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) after seeing how beautifully the celebration had been organised and appreciated the effort Nick made to honour her culture.
A Love Story That Continues to Inspire
Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra married in a lavish ceremony at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, blending Indian and Western traditions in celebrations watched around the world.
In 2022, the couple welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, through surrogacy, beginning a new chapter in their family life.
