Actress Mouni Roy has finally addressed the rumours surrounding her personal life following her separation from businessman Suraj Nambiar, including speculation about her sexual orientation that spread widely across social media.

“Oh, that I am gay,” she said.

“I feel very lucky that I have always had friends and family who have stood by me like a rock,” Mouni shared.

The actress particularly praised her female friends, calling them her biggest emotional support system.

The statement clarified that the two had mutually decided to part ways respectfully and privately.

“We have decided to part ways and are taking the necessary time to address matters privately and amicably,” the statement read.

The couple also criticised attempts to sensationalise their personal lives through “fictitious narratives and blatant falsehoods.”

Despite the clarification, rumours and online theories continued to circulate, with some social media users linking Mouni to other individuals.

Later, Suraj Nambiar also issued a separate statement strongly denying reports about alimony, disputes or third-party involvement.

“There is no alimony. There are no disputes. There is no third party involved,” Suraj stated.

He further added that many reports were “deliberate attempts to vilify two people who have done nothing but ask to be left alone.”
