Kia Sorento Hybrid is reportedly accepting unofficial bookings in India ahead of launch, bringing premium features, Level 2 ADAS and a strong hybrid powertrain.

Kia appears to be gearing up for the launch of its flagship Sorento Hybrid SUV in India. Even before the company has made an official announcement, several dealership sources suggest that unofficial bookings for the premium 7-seater SUV have already begun, with customers reportedly able to reserve the vehicle by paying a Rs 25,000 token amount.

The development comes shortly after Kia released a teaser hinting at the arrival of a new hybrid SUV, fueling speculation that the Sorento Hybrid will soon make its Indian debut.

A Bold SUV With Premium Road Presence

The latest 2026 Kia Sorento carries a modern yet rugged design language that gives it a commanding road presence.

At the front, the SUV features distinctive Y-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs) that also function as turn indicators. These are paired with vertically positioned quad LED projector headlamps, giving the SUV a unique identity.

The signature Tiger Nose grille, finished in black with a combination of horizontal and vertical elements, dominates the front fascia. Functional air intakes and blacked-out radiator grilles further enhance its sporty appeal.

Viewed from the side, the Sorento sports subtle body cladding, muscular wheel arches and stylish 19-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, C-shaped LED tail lamps, a roof-mounted spoiler with an integrated brake light, shark-fin antenna and clean tailgate design complete the premium styling.

Technology-Focused Cabin

Inside, the Sorento is expected to offer one of the most feature-rich cabins in its segment.

The SUV is likely to come equipped with dual 12-inch digital displays, one serving as the instrument cluster and the other as the infotainment system. Other expected highlights include a four-spoke multifunction steering wheel, premium leather gear selector, touch-sensitive climate controls, steel pedals and a dual-tone interior theme.

Kia is also expected to offer a rotary drive mode selector, adding convenience for different driving conditions.

Comfort features are likely to include:

Panoramic sunroof
Powered front seats
Ventilated front seats
Premium upholstery
Automatic climate control
Connected car technology
Wireless smartphone connectivity
Advanced Safety With Level 2 ADAS

One of the biggest attractions of the upcoming SUV is expected to be its Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) package.

The system could include several driver-assistance technologies such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring, making the Sorento one of Kia’s safest offerings in India.

Strong Hybrid Powertrain Likely for India

While Kia has not officially revealed the India-spec engine lineup, the international Sorento is available with multiple powertrain choices, including naturally aspirated petrol, turbo-petrol and hybrid variants.

Industry reports suggest that the Indian version is expected to arrive with the globally available 1.6-litre turbo-petrol strong hybrid powertrain. A conventional petrol engine may also be introduced depending on market demand.

The hybrid setup is expected to deliver improved fuel efficiency while offering smooth performance for both city driving and long-distance touring.

Unofficial Bookings Underway

Although Kia has yet to announce an official launch date, dealership sources indicate that unofficial reservations have already started across select outlets.

Customers interested in the SUV are reportedly being asked to pay a Rs 25,000 booking amount, signalling that the launch could take place in the coming months.

If launched with the expected feature list and hybrid technology, the Sorento could emerge as a strong rival in India’s premium three-row SUV segment, catering to buyers seeking luxury, practicality and fuel-efficient performance in one package.
