Kia Sonet Price Hiked by Up to ₹28,300 in India: Check New Variant Prices and Details
Kia India has increased the prices of the Sonet by up to ₹28,300 across its variant lineup, while retaining the SUV's existing features and engine options.

If you have been planning to buy the Kia Sonet, you may now need to set aside a slightly bigger budget. Kia India has officially revised the prices of its popular compact SUV, with the latest hike affecting the entire variant lineup.

Following the latest revision, the Kia Sonet is now priced from ₹7.41 lakh and goes up to ₹14.18 lakh (ex-showroom). The increase comes into effect immediately and varies depending on the variant selected.

Price Hike Varies Across Variants

Unlike a flat price increase, Kia has implemented a variant-wise revision, meaning the amount customers pay extra depends on the version they choose.

The latest update sees prices rise anywhere between ₹3,300 and ₹28,300, making some higher-end variants noticeably more expensive than before.

While the price adjustment may influence buying decisions, Kia has confirmed that the SUV itself remains unchanged.

No Changes to Features or Design

The latest price revision is purely financial, with no updates to the Sonet’s styling, cabin equipment or technology package.

Customers will continue to get the same design, infotainment system, safety features and convenience equipment that were already available across the lineup.

Similarly, Kia has not introduced any cosmetic enhancements or feature additions alongside the revised pricing.

Engine Options Remain the Same

Mechanically, the Sonet continues with its familiar range of powertrain choices, giving buyers flexibility based on their driving preferences.

The SUV is available with:

  • 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine
  • 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine
  • 1.5-litre diesel engine

Transmission choices continue to include:

  • 5-speed Manual
  • 6-speed Manual
  • 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT)
  • 6-speed Automatic
  • 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT)

The availability of these gearbox options varies depending on the chosen engine and trim level.

A Strong Player in India’s Compact SUV Segment

The Kia Sonet remains one of India’s best-selling compact SUVs, competing against popular rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Skoda Kylaq.

Its wide engine lineup, multiple transmission choices and extensive variant range have helped it remain a popular option among both city commuters and family buyers.

What This Means for Buyers

Price revisions have become increasingly common across the Indian automobile industry as manufacturers continue to deal with higher input costs and changing market conditions.

Although the Sonet is now more expensive, Kia has retained the SUV’s existing feature list and mechanical package, ensuring customers continue to receive the same product despite the revised pricing.

Prospective buyers planning to purchase the Sonet may want to check the updated variant-wise prices at their nearest dealership, as final on-road costs will vary depending on state taxes, insurance and registration charges.
