Tamannaah Bhatia Begins ‘Ragini 3’ Shoot in London… Horror Franchise Returns to Theatres After More Than a Decade

Tamannaah Bhatia has officially started shooting for Ragini 3, marking her debut in one of Balaji Motion Pictures’ most successful horror franchises. The actor is currently filming in London, where the first schedule of the much-awaited horror entertainer has commenced.

Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, Ragini 3 is being designed as a theatrical horror experience, bringing the franchise back to the big screen after more than a decade. The makers are reportedly planning a 2027 theatrical release.

London Schedule Marks the Beginning

The overseas schedule marks the start of principal photography, with additional shoots expected to take place across multiple locations over the coming months.

While the makers have kept the storyline tightly under wraps, the film is expected to retain the franchise’s signature blend of supernatural horror, mystery, suspense, and commercial entertainment.

For Tamannaah, the project marks her first association with the Ragini universe, making her the latest leading face of the long-running horror series.

Its sequel, Ragini MMS 2, released in 2014, featured Sunny Leone in the lead role alongside Parvin Dabas, Sandhya Mridul, and Divya Dutta. The film became a major box-office success, with the chartbuster song ‘Baby Doll’ becoming one of the year’s biggest musical hits.

From OTT Success Back to Cinemas

Following its theatrical success, the franchise expanded into the digital space with Ragini MMS Returns, which released in 2017 and 2019.

The web series featured actors including Riya Sen, Karishma Sharma, Divya Agarwal, and Sunny Leone, continuing the franchise’s blend of horror, mystery, and suspense for streaming audiences.
