The rumour quickly spread across multiple social media platforms, with posts claiming that Argentine authorities had taken action against the content creator over alleged “hate” directed at the country. However, there is no official evidence supporting these claims.
No statement has been issued by the Argentine government or any other official authority confirming that Darren Watkins Jr., popularly known as IShowSpeed, has been prohibited from entering the country.

IShowSpeed attended the 2026 FIFA World Cup as a digital content creator collaborating with FIFA, Fox Sports, and YouTube.
During Argentina’s Round of 32 match against Cape Verde at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on July 3, the streamer was livestreaming while openly supporting Cape Verde.
Videos circulating online showed an individual wearing an Argentina jersey allegedly directing offensive remarks toward the American streamer. According to international media reports, the fan appeared to make a racist comment aimed at IShowSpeed.

Following the incident, FIFA confirmed that it had launched an investigation into the alleged abuse.
