Gurugram Sushant Lok Encounter: 4 Alleged Gangsters Killed, Deepak Nandal Gang Under Spotlight
Police personnel secure Gurugram's Sushant Lok after a late-night encounter in which four alleged gang members were killed following an intense exchange of gunfire.

Gurugram: A quiet night in one of Gurugram’s most premium residential neighbourhoods turned into a terrifying scene after a fierce gunfight between police and alleged gangsters left four suspects dead, three police personnel injured, and a prominent businessman rescued safely.

The dramatic encounter took place late Thursday night in Sushant Lok’s A Block, where police claim five armed men linked to the Deepak Nandal gang stormed the residence of property dealer Vishal Beri, the son of the founder of SGT University.

According to police officials, the suspects allegedly held Beri hostage inside his home. Acting swiftly on intelligence inputs, multiple Crime Branch teams reached the location and surrounded the house.

When officers reportedly asked the armed men to surrender, the suspects allegedly responded by opening fire. What followed was an intense exchange of gunfire that lasted several minutes, with officials estimating that more than 60 rounds were fired during the encounter.

By the time the operation concluded, four alleged gang members had been killed, while another sustained injuries and was taken into custody for medical treatment. Three policemen also suffered bullet injuries during the operation but are receiving treatment. Vishal Beri was rescued without harm.

Residents of the upscale colony described the gunfire as relentless, with many comparing the incident to scenes straight out of an action film. Security forces later secured the area, and forensic teams began collecting evidence from the crime scene.

Deepak Nandal Back in the Spotlight

While the encounter itself has dominated headlines, the operation has also brought renewed focus on Deepak Nandal, whom investigators describe as the alleged mastermind behind an international extortion network.

Police allege that Nandal currently operates from abroad and has built a syndicate targeting wealthy businessmen and influential individuals through threats, extortion demands, and organised criminal activities.

What makes Nandal’s story particularly unusual is his past connection with the Haryanvi entertainment industry.

Before entering the world of crime, Nandal reportedly worked as a music producer and performer. He was associated with well-known Haryanvi artistes, including Rahul Fazilpuria and rapper Badshah, and was linked to the original Haryanvi version of the popular track “Kar Gayi Chull.” He also contributed to songs like “2 Many Girls” and “Haryana Roadways,” even appearing in music videos alongside the artists.

In earlier interviews, Nandal had publicly described the musicians as being “like my brothers,” highlighting the stark contrast between his previous life in entertainment and his alleged role in organised crime today.

Investigation Continues

Police are now investigating the background of the suspects, their movements before the incident, and whether they were planning additional criminal activities in the region.

Authorities are also examining possible links between the alleged gang members and other extortion cases reported in Haryana and neighbouring states.

The encounter has once again raised concerns over the growing influence of organised crime networks and the challenges law enforcement faces in tackling gangs that allegedly operate across international borders while directing activities inside India.

Officials have stated that further details will emerge as the investigation progresses.
