Axar Patel has revealed how replacing tea and snacks with a protein-rich morning shake transformed his daily routine and fitness.

Indian cricketer Axar Patel has made a surprising confession about his old eating habits — and fans may find it hard to believe.

The dependable all-rounder, known for his fitness and consistency on the field, revealed that there was a time when his mornings started with nothing but tea and unhealthy street snacks like puffs, patties, samosas, vada pav, and sev puri.

And the biggest shock?

There was no breakfast.

Speaking about his journey toward better nutrition, Axar admitted that he never used to focus much on calorie counting, protein grams, or detailed diet plans.

“I know this isn’t ideal, but I don’t get into all the calculations. I don’t think I need exactly 25 grams of protein or a certain amount of carbs every day,” Axar said.

But things changed when his trainer, Soham Desai, stepped in.

According to Axar, Soham had seen what he called his “worst diet” and understood that making drastic changes all at once wouldn’t work.

Instead, he suggested something simple — start the day with protein.

That one piece of advice became a game-changer.

“My trainer told me that if I wasn’t having breakfast, at least I should begin the day with protein,” Axar shared.

What started as a small adjustment soon turned into a permanent habit.

“Now it has become a habit that I wake up and have protein first. Whether I eat breakfast or not, I’ll take protein,” he added.

Axar also revealed what goes into his daily morning protein shake.

His go-to blend includes protein powder, almonds, walnuts, half a banana, almond milk, and cold water. On days when he needs extra energy, he even adds a shot of espresso.

“I blend it all and drink it. No matter what, my day starts with this now,” he said.

Interestingly, Axar says the goal was never to follow a strict or unrealistic diet.

Instead, it was about building a consistent nutritional foundation.

His trainer explained that if the body receives essential nutrients regularly every morning, it adapts better and performs more efficiently.

That simple mindset shift has helped Axar create a healthier and more sustainable routine while continuing to perform at the highest level for India.

His story is a reminder that fitness transformations do not always begin with extreme diets or complicated meal plans.

Sometimes, one small habit can make the biggest difference.
