“Life Has Broken Me a Little Bit”: Angelina Jolie reveals she hasn’t dated since split with brad pitt

Los Angeles: Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has offered one of her most candid reflections yet on life after divorce, motherhood, and healing, revealing that she has not dated anyone since ending her marriage with actor Brad Pitt nearly a decade ago.

The Oscar-winning actress made the revelation while promoting her upcoming film ‘Couture’, a deeply emotional drama directed by Alice Winocour, where she plays Maxine Walker, an American filmmaker navigating a breast cancer diagnosis while working in Paris during Fashion Week.

But for Jolie, the film seems to have struck a deeply personal chord.

Speaking in a recent interview, the actress admitted that stepping into Maxine’s emotional world forced her to confront parts of herself she had pushed aside since her divorce.

“To be candid, I haven’t dated since I divorced a decade ago,” Jolie said.

She explained that over the years, her focus has been almost entirely on her children and family.

“That aspect of me is not centred in my life if I’m focusing on my children, my family,” she shared.

Jolie and Brad Pitt ended their marriage in 2016 after a relationship that lasted over a decade and two years of marriage, a split that became one of Hollywood’s most closely followed separations.

Reflecting on her character in Couture, Jolie said the story challenged her assumptions about whether a woman can balance motherhood and her own emotional needs.

“She can also love her daughter and be dedicated to her daughter and also need this as a woman,” Jolie said, speaking about her role.

The actress also made a strikingly vulnerable admission about where she stands in life today.

“I’m thinking I have to live again. Be free again. In a way that maybe life has broken me a little bit,” she said.

Jolie, now 51, said watching her daughters grow into young women has become a mirror for her own journey.

She revealed that their strength, openness, and independence have reminded her of parts of herself she may have lost over time.

“They kind of want me now to not just be ‘Mom.’ There’s room for me to be that woman again,” she shared.

The actress shares six children with Brad Pitt — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne — all of whom remain central to her life.

Meanwhile, Brad Pitt has reportedly moved on and is currently in a relationship with Ines de Ramon, with reports suggesting the couple may even be considering marriage.

For Jolie, however, this chapter appears less about romance and more about rediscovering herself after years of pain, motherhood, and survival.

And if her words are anything to go by, that journey is only just beginning.
