Akshay Kumar will reportedly make a special cameo appearance alongside Farhan Akhtar in Neeraj Pandey's upcoming RD Burman biopic.

Akshay Kumar is reportedly set to reunite with filmmaker Neeraj Pandey for the fifth time, marking another collaboration between the actor-director duo known for delivering acclaimed films over the years.

According to media reports, Akshay will make a special cameo appearance in Pandey’s upcoming biopic on legendary music composer RD Burman, a project that will feature Farhan Akhtar in the lead role.

A Brief Role With Major Impact

Reports suggest that although Akshay Kumar’s screen time will be limited, his character will play a significant role in the narrative.

The actor is said to have readily agreed to be part of the project, making his reunion with Neeraj Pandey after nearly a decade. The two have previously collaborated on successful films including Special 26, Baby, Naam Shabana, and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.

Farhan Akhtar to Portray RD Burman

The film will see Farhan Akhtar step into the role of the iconic composer Rahul Dev Burman (RD Burman), one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated music directors.

The biopic is being directed by Neeraj Pandey, while Excel Entertainment, co-founded by Farhan Akhtar, is co-producing the project.

Currently in the pre-production stage, the makers are reportedly working extensively on recreating RD Burman’s timeless musical compositions. Principal photography is expected to begin in September.

Farhan’s Busy Line-Up

Apart from portraying RD Burman, Farhan Akhtar is also preparing to play Pandit Ravi Shankar in another upcoming biographical drama directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Sam Mendes.

The actor continues to expand his filmography with projects centred on iconic personalities from India’s cultural and musical history.

What’s Next for Akshay Kumar?

On the work front, Akshay Kumar has an exciting slate of films lined up. After appearing in Bhoot Bangla and Welcome to the Jungle, the actor is now awaiting the release of Priyadarshan’s Haivan.

The film will also reunite him with Saif Ali Khan, bringing the popular duo back together years after their memorable collaboration in Main Khiladi Tu Anari.
