No PR Can Sideline Talent’: Tusshar Kapoor breaks silence on multi-Starrer debate after Welcome To The Jungle release
The actor says audiences not publicity campaigns ultimately decide who shines, as Welcome To The Jungle opens with a strong start at the box office.
Mumbai: Tusshar Kapoor has weighed in on the ongoing debate surrounding multi-starrer films, asserting that no amount of public relations (PR) can overshadow an actor’s performance once a movie reaches the audience. The actor shared his thoughts while speaking about his latest release, Welcome To The Jungle, one of Bollywood’s biggest ensemble comedies.
Directed by Ahmed Khan, the film features an unprecedented cast of 34 actors, making it one of the largest ensemble projects in Hindi cinema. Tusshar, who plays Akshay Kumar’s manager in the film, believes the director has successfully justified every character’s presence in the story.
Speaking about the ambitious project, Tusshar said the film is unlike anything Bollywood has attempted before. He expressed confidence that the jungle-based comedy could become a pathbreaking entertainer, setting a new benchmark for large-scale ensemble films if it performs well in theatres.
Addressing the common perception that only a handful of stars receive attention in multi-starrer films, Tusshar dismissed the idea that publicity strategies can determine an actor’s success.
According to him, the audience is the ultimate judge of every performance. He said that while promotional campaigns play their role before a film’s release, it is the viewers who decide which performances stand out after watching the movie. In his view, every actor eventually receives recognition based on their work and the audience’s response.
The actor also acknowledged that commercial films naturally revolve around a central hero or lead character. He explained that actors with greater box-office appeal often receive more promotional focus because they help attract audiences to cinemas. Calling it a part of the film business, Tusshar said such marketing decisions are justified.

Welcome To The Jungle boasts a star-studded cast led by Akshay Kumar, alongside Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Farida Jalal, Johny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Aftab Shivdasani, Mukesh Tiwari, Yashpal Sharma, Kiran Kumar, Zakir Hussain, Vindu Dara Singh, Urvashi Rautela, Hemant Pandey, Brijendra Kala, Feroze Khan, the late Pankaj Dheer, Puneet Issar, Sudesh Berry, Jeetu Verma, Vrihi Kodvara, Adityaa Singgh, and Bhagya Bhanushali.
