Tata Motors is set to launch the all-electric Sierra SUV on June 30, featuring advanced tech and a dual-motor QWD option.

The wait is almost over for Indian SUV enthusiasts as Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles gears up to launch the much-anticipated Tata Sierra.ev on June 30. Reviving one of the most iconic names in Indian automotive history, Tata is now introducing the Sierra in an all-electric avatar with some serious upgrades.

What makes this launch even more exciting is Tata’s confirmation of a dual-motor Quad-Wheel Drive (QWD) variant, making it one of the brand’s most capable electric SUVs yet.

The Sierra.ev will become Tata Motors’ seventh electric passenger vehicle, joining an already expanding EV lineup that includes the Tiago.ev, Tigor.ev, Punch.ev, Nexon.ev, Curvv.ev, and Harrier.ev. In the brand’s portfolio, it will be positioned between the Curvv.ev and Harrier.ev, targeting buyers looking for a premium electric SUV.

In terms of design, the Sierra.ev will closely resemble its ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) sibling, which made its Indian debut in November 2025. However, Tata has added several EV-specific styling tweaks to distinguish it. The SUV will feature an upright front profile, sleek LED headlamps, connected rear LED taillights, and stylish 19-inch alloy wheels, while retaining the legendary Sierra identity.

Inside, the cabin promises a futuristic experience. The SUV will feature Tata’s highly talked-about triple-screen layout, including a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch passenger display.

Feature-wise, Tata is loading the Sierra.ev with premium offerings such as automatic climate control, a JBL Black 12-speaker sound system, dash-integrated soundbar, Dolby Atmos, ventilated seats, and a panoramic sunroof.

Safety remains a strong focus. The Sierra.ev is expected to carry forward the strong safety standards of the ICE model, which scored a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating. Additionally, the EV will come equipped with Level 2+ ADAS featuring 22 advanced safety functions, including collision prevention and driver assistance systems.

Under the skin, Tata has confirmed two drivetrain options. The standard Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) version will use a single motor setup, while the premium QWD variant will get two motors—one on each axle—for improved traction and performance.

While official battery and power figures are still under wraps, industry expectations suggest Tata is aiming for a driving range of over 500 km on a single charge, which would place it among the strongest contenders in the segment.

As for pricing, the Tata Sierra.ev is expected to be priced between ₹17 lakh and ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete with rivals like the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella, Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra XEV 9e, and VinFast VF7.

With its blend of nostalgia, modern technology, and electric performance, the Sierra.ev could be one of Tata’s biggest launches of the year.
