Tesla Expands india footprint with new hyderabad experience centre, Showcases model Y L and model Y premium RWD
The electric vehicle giant has opened its fifth Indian experience centre in Hyderabad’s HITEC City, strengthening its presence while highlighting the long-range Model Y lineup.
Tesla is accelerating its expansion in the Indian market with the launch of a new Experience Centre in Hyderabad, marking another significant step in the company’s growing retail network across the country.
Located in Knowledge City, Madhapur, HITEC City, the new facility officially opened its doors on June 17, 2026. The centre becomes Tesla’s fifth experience outlet in India and is expected to play a crucial role in increasing customer engagement in one of the country’s fastest-growing technology hubs.
The newly inaugurated showroom will prominently display two of Tesla’s latest offerings in India — the Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and the Model Y L, giving prospective buyers an opportunity to experience the brand’s technology and design up close.
Tesla Strengthens Presence in India
Tesla entered the Indian market last year with the launch of the Model Y, one of the company’s best-selling electric SUVs globally. Since then, the brand has steadily expanded its footprint, focusing on major metropolitan markets where demand for premium electric vehicles continues to rise.
The Hyderabad experience centre reflects Tesla’s long-term commitment to India as the country transitions towards sustainable mobility and electric transportation.
Model Y Premium RWD Offers Luxury and Performance
Launched in India on May 29, 2026, the Tesla Model Y Premium RWD is priced at Rs 50.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
The electric SUV comes equipped with a host of premium features, including:
- 16-inch central touchscreen infotainment system
- 8-inch rear passenger display
- Panoramic glass roof
- Ventilated front seats
- Wireless charging
- LED ambient lighting
- Reclining and foldable rear seats
- Full LED lighting package
Tesla claims the Model Y Premium RWD can deliver a driving range of up to 500 kilometres on a single charge. Performance remains impressive, with the SUV capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds.
Model Y L Becomes Longest-Range Tesla in India
The second vehicle showcased at the Hyderabad centre is the Tesla Model Y L, which was launched in India on April 22, 2026.
Designed as a six-seater long-wheelbase variant, the Model Y L caters to buyers seeking additional space and practicality without compromising on performance.

The SUV shares many premium features with the standard Model Y but adds a more spacious cabin layout, making it suitable for larger families.
One of the biggest highlights of the Model Y L is its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, making it the first Model Y variant in India to receive this configuration.
Tesla claims the vehicle offers a WLTP-certified driving range of 681 kilometres, making it the longest-range Tesla currently available in the Indian market.
The performance credentials are equally impressive, with the SUV capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5 seconds.

Advanced Safety and Technology
Both Model Y variants feature Tesla’s advanced driver-assistance technologies, including:
- Blind Spot Monitoring
- Lane Keep Assist
- Advanced Collision Prevention Systems
- Smart Connectivity Features
Combined with Tesla’s software-focused ecosystem and over-the-air update capabilities, these features continue to distinguish the brand in the premium EV segment.
Growing Competition in India’s EV Market
Tesla’s expansion comes at a time when India’s premium electric vehicle segment is witnessing increasing competition from both domestic and international manufacturers.
With the launch of its Hyderabad experience centre, Tesla is aiming to strengthen customer accessibility, boost brand visibility, and capitalize on growing demand for long-range electric SUVs.
As infrastructure improves and EV adoption continues to rise, Hyderabad’s new Tesla facility could become an important hub for customers across Telangana and neighbouring regions exploring premium electric mobility solutions.
