The spinner said he was travelling home from the airport in a CNG vehicle when police officers stopped them near the Lalkhan Bazar flyover for a routine document check.
What happened next, according to Nayeem, left him stunned.
The cricketer claimed he cooperated fully with the officers and even offered them the opportunity to inspect his belongings. However, he alleged that the situation escalated unexpectedly.
Nayeem stated that officers allegedly grabbed him by the throat, forced him into a police vehicle, and later physically assaulted him when he questioned their actions.

The senior officer stated that authorities maintain a zero-tolerance policy regarding misconduct and promised strict action if any officers are found responsible.
Police officials have indicated that an internal inquiry is already underway and that all facts surrounding the incident will be examined carefully.
