Life Doesn’t Stop: Khushbu Sundar Hits Back at Trolls Over Wedding Posts After K Bhagyaraj’s Death
As grief meets celebration, Khushbu Sundar responds to criticism for sharing her daughter’s wedding moments days after K Bhagyaraj’s passing.
A wave of mixed emotions has swept through the Tamil film industry as actor-politician Khushbu Sundar found herself at the centre of online criticism following the demise of legendary filmmaker K Bhagyaraj.
Bhagyaraj, who passed away at the age of 73 due to a cardiac arrest, had made one of his final public appearances at Khushbu’s daughter Avantika’s wedding in Goa—just two days before his sudden demise.
A Heartfelt Tribute Amid Celebration
Shortly after the news broke, Khushbu took to social media to mourn the loss of the veteran filmmaker. Sharing a picture with him, she wrote,
“Rest in peace Sir… My funny moments with you will remain etched in my memory forever. I will miss you.”
Her message reflected a deep personal bond with Bhagyaraj, who was widely respected across generations for his storytelling and contributions to Tamil cinema.
Wedding Moments Spark Backlash
However, controversy arose when videos and pictures from her daughter’s wedding surfaced online around the same time. Some social media users criticised Khushbu for posting celebratory content so soon after Bhagyaraj’s death.

The wedding, attended by some of the biggest names in Indian cinema, had taken place in Goa just days before the tragedy. Clips from the ceremony showed Bhagyaraj warmly interacting with megastar Chiranjeevi, marking one of his final public appearances.
Khushbu’s Strong Response
Addressing the backlash, Khushbu reportedly made it clear that life’s important moments—both joyful and sorrowful—often overlap, and one does not cancel out the other.
While she did not directly engage in online arguments, her stance conveyed a powerful message: grief and celebration can coexist.

A Star-Studded Celebration
The wedding itself was a grand affair, attended by prominent film personalities including Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, and actress Trisha Krishnan.
The presence of such stars highlighted the close-knit nature of the film fraternity, where personal and professional relationships often intertwine deeply.
Remembering a Legend
Even as the debate continues online, the focus remains on honouring the legacy of K Bhagyaraj—an artist whose work left an indelible mark on Indian cinema.
For Khushbu and many others in the industry, his loss is deeply personal. Yet, as she subtly conveyed through her actions, life continues—carrying both memories of joy and moments of sorrow.
