Bhagyaraj, who passed away at the age of 73 due to a cardiac arrest, had made one of his final public appearances at Khushbu’s daughter Avantika’s wedding in Goa—just two days before his sudden demise.

Shortly after the news broke, Khushbu took to social media to mourn the loss of the veteran filmmaker. Sharing a picture with him, she wrote,
“Rest in peace Sir… My funny moments with you will remain etched in my memory forever. I will miss you.”

Her message reflected a deep personal bond with Bhagyaraj, who was widely respected across generations for his storytelling and contributions to Tamil cinema.

However, controversy arose when videos and pictures from her daughter’s wedding surfaced online around the same time. Some social media users criticised Khushbu for posting celebratory content so soon after Bhagyaraj’s death.
