Karuppu OTT Release: When and Where to Watch Suriya’s Blockbuster Fantasy Drama Online

One of Tamil cinema’s biggest blockbuster successes of the year, Karuppu, has finally made its digital debut after a phenomenal theatrical run worldwide. Starring superstar Suriya in a powerful dual-layered role, the fantasy action drama blends mythology, courtroom conflict, emotional storytelling, and social commentary into a large-scale cinematic spectacle.

Directed by actor-filmmaker RJ Balaji, Karuppu premiered on Prime Video on June 12, 2026, and is now available for streaming in more than 200 countries and territories globally.

The film is streaming in multiple languages including Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu. Interestingly, in Telugu-speaking regions, the movie has been released under the alternate title Veerabhadrudu.

A Mythological Story Rooted in Social Justice

The story of Karuppu revolves around Binu and her father, who travel from Kerala to Chennai hoping to arrange a life-saving liver transplant for her. However, their journey takes a tragic turn when the gold intended to fund the treatment is stolen, pushing them into a corrupt and unforgiving legal system.

As the situation spirals into devastation, the guardian deity Karuppu descends to Earth in the form of advocate Saravanan, portrayed by Suriya. The character emerges as a symbol of justice, determined to punish corruption and stand against those exploiting the helpless.

The film combines supernatural mythology with courtroom drama and emotional family themes, which resonated strongly with audiences during its theatrical release.
