However, as he grew older, his passion shifted towards pace bowling. Despite his talent, academics eventually took priority, and Moondra stepped away from competitive cricket while pursuing higher education.

Moving to Ireland Changed Everything

In 2021, Moondra relocated to Ireland to pursue a master’s degree in Electronics and Communication. Initially focused on building a corporate career, he soon realised that his love for cricket had never disappeared.

Instead of accepting a full-time job, he made a bold decision—to give professional cricket one final chance.

Reflecting on that turning point, Moondra revealed that he had almost accepted that his cricketing dream was over after college. But the excitement of bowling pace reignited his passion, convincing him to chase his dream instead of settling into corporate life.

Making His Mark in Irish Cricket

After settling in Dublin, Moondra joined Leinster Cricket Club, where his performances quickly attracted attention. He played an important role in the club’s successful Irish Senior Cup campaign in 2023 and steadily climbed through Ireland’s domestic cricket system.

Although still relatively new to professional cricket, the left-arm pacer has impressed with both ball and bat. He has featured in first-class, List A and T20 cricket, picking up crucial wickets while also showcasing his batting ability, including a half-century on his first-class debut.

An Aggressive Left-Arm Fast Bowler

Moondra believes his biggest weapon is the natural angle created by his left-arm pace. His strategy revolves around swinging the new ball, attacking the stumps, forcing batters into uncomfortable positions and constantly varying his pace with slower deliveries and cutters.
