‘SRK was rolling on the floor laughing’: Farah Khan reveals hilarious ‘Main Hoon Na’ stunt blunder you never saw
Farah Khan and Murali Sharma revisited a funny behind-the-scenes moment from ‘Main Hoon Na’, recalling a stunt gone wrong that left Shah Rukh Khan in uncontrollable laughter.
More than two decades after the release of the cult Bollywood entertainer ‘Main Hoon Na’, filmmaker Farah Khan has shared a hilarious behind-the-scenes story from the film’s sets — and it involves Shah Rukh Khan laughing so hard that he ended up rolling on the floor.
The filmmaker recently visited actors Murali Sharma and Ashwini Kalsekar at their home for her popular cooking vlog with her cook, Dilip, where the trio revisited several memories from the making of the 2004 blockbuster.
During the candid conversation, Murali Sharma, who played Captain Khan in the film, recalled his first day on set and how Farah publicly called out his acting in front of nearly 250 crew members.
Sharing the memory, Murali said Farah had jokingly interrupted his scene through the microphone and asked him to tone down his realistic performance.
According to him, Farah told him, “What is this Maqbool kind of acting? Itna realistic mat kar.”
Farah laughed while remembering the incident and admitted that she often pushed actors to make their performances more “commercial,” even revealing that she once told veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah to do the same.
But the funniest story came when the two discussed a stunt sequence that went completely wrong.
Murali explained that the shot required him to hang onto a car door and rise only up to the first floor using a harness. However, due to the poor quality of stunt harnesses at the time and lack of proper technical handling, things didn’t go as planned.
Farah recalled that instead of just Murali moving up slightly, both Murali and the car door flew into the air together.

The bizarre mishap instantly left everyone on set in splits.
Murali said it was his first time using a harness, and the awkwardness of the scene made it even funnier.
But the biggest reaction came from Shah Rukh Khan.
When SRK arrived and was shown the footage, Murali revealed that the superstar couldn’t stop laughing.
“He rolled on the floor laughing,” Murali said.

Released in 2004, ‘Main Hoon Na’ marked Farah Khan’s directorial debut and became one of the biggest hits of the year. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, the film starred Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Suniel Shetty, Amrita Rao, and Zayed Khan.
The action-comedy remains one of Bollywood’s most loved entertainers, remembered for its mix of emotion, humour, memorable songs, and larger-than-life storytelling.
On the work front, Farah Khan has revealed that while she is currently focused on her digital content and vlogs, she is gearing up for her next directorial venture.
And in exciting news for fans, she confirmed that her next film will once again feature Shah Rukh Khan.
