‘He had a massive crush on me’: Farah Khan Ali opens up on teenage romance with Bobby Deol, breaks silence on old rumours

Mumbai: Decades after whispers of a romance between Farah Khan Ali and Bobby Deol made headlines, the renowned jewellery designer has finally opened up about their relationship and her candid revelations are taking fans by surprise.

In a recent conversation, Farah looked back at her teenage years and described her bond with Bobby as a sweet, innocent chapter of her life, far removed from the idea of a full-fledged romance as understood today.

Calling themselves “childhood sweethearts,” Farah revealed that the connection was built on mutual admiration, handwritten letters, and simple moments.

“We were childhood sweethearts. I had a massive crush on him. He had a massive crush on me. That’s it. We held hands. We wrote letters to each other,” she shared, reflecting on a time when relationships were far more innocent and uncomplicated.

Farah was just 16, while Bobby was 17, when they shared that bond nearly four decades ago.

She emphasized how different those times were compared to today, explaining that their relationship never crossed into what modern generations would call dating.

“Today he is one of my closest friends, and so is Tanya. I adore them from the bottom of my heart,” she said.

She further added that Bobby and Tanya are like family to her, recalling how the couple supported her by attending the launch of her jewellery store.

Farah also took the opportunity to clear up old rumours linking actress Neelam Kothari to the end of her equation with Bobby. Rejecting the speculation outright, she clarified that Neelam entered Bobby’s life much later and had nothing to do with their teenage relationship ending.

“That’s not true at all. Neelam is my dearest friend. She came into Bobby’s life after Bobby and me,” Farah said, putting an end to years of gossip.
