The Telugu superstar attended proceedings via video conferencing in connection with the 2024 Sandhya Theatre stampede case, as the court posted the matter for July 29.
Telugu superstar Allu Arjun on Monday appeared virtually before a Hyderabad court in connection with the ‘Pushpa 2’ stampede case, which relates to the tragic death of a woman during the film’s premiere in December 2024.
After recording the presence of the accused, the court adjourned the matter and scheduled the next hearing for July 29.
Charge Sheet Filed Against 23 Accused
The Hyderabad Police filed a comprehensive charge sheet in December 2025, naming 23 individuals as accused in the case.
During Monday’s proceedings, copies of the charge sheet were provided to the accused. While most appeared before the court, two of the accused were absent.
According to the charge sheet, the owner, partners, manager, lower-balcony in-charge, and gatekeeper of Sandhya Theatre have been named as Accused Nos. 1 to 10, while Allu Arjun has been listed as Accused No. 11.
The actor also marked his virtual attendance during an earlier hearing held on June 22.
The Stampede Incident
The case stems from the December 4, 2024, premiere of ‘Pushpa 2’ at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad.
A massive crowd had gathered outside the theatre to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun, leading to a stampede during which a 35-year-old woman lost her life, while her eight-year-old son sustained injuries.
The incident sparked widespread concern over crowd management and safety arrangements during celebrity events.

Case Registered Against Actor and Theatre Management
Following a complaint filed by the deceased woman’s family, the Chikkadpally Police Station registered a case against Allu Arjun, members of his security team, and the theatre management under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The investigation later culminated in the filing of the charge sheet against the 23 accused.
Arrest and Bail

Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13, 2024, in connection with the case.
A day later, the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail, following which he was released from custody. He was subsequently granted regular bail, allowing him to remain out of jail while the legal proceedings continue.
Financial Assistance for Victim’s Family
In the aftermath of the tragedy, Allu Arjun and the makers of ‘Pushpa 2’ extended financial support to the family of the deceased woman and her injured son.
The Telangana government also announced financial assistance to help the affected family.
With the charge sheet now formally served and the case progressing through the courts, the matter is set to come up for its next hearing on July 29.
