Vivo Y31t 5G Launched in India With Massive 7,200mAh Battery: But Is It Worth ₹25,999?

Vivo has expanded its popular Y-series portfolio in India with the launch of the Vivo Y31t 5G. The latest mid-range smartphone joins the existing Vivo Y31 5G and Vivo Y31 Pro 5G, bringing a significantly larger battery and several durability-focused features.

The biggest attraction is undoubtedly its massive 7,200mAh battery, which should appeal to users who regularly stream videos, play games or spend long hours away from a charger. The handset also offers a 120Hz display, a 50MP primary camera and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset.

The Vivo Y31t 5G is already available through Flipkart, the Vivo India online store and authorised offline retailers across the country.

The new smartphone has been introduced in three memory configurations:

• 4GB RAM + 128GB storage: ₹25,999
• 6GB RAM + 128GB storage: ₹29,999
• 6GB RAM + 256GB storage: ₹34,999

Buyers can choose between Crimson Red, Golden Mist and Seashore Green colour options.

Large 120Hz display

The Vivo Y31t 5G sports a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 720 × 1,608 pixels. It supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, which should make scrolling, animations and supported games appear smoother.

Vivo claims that the display can reach up to 1,250 nits of peak brightness, making the screen easier to view outdoors. It also carries TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification for a more comfortable viewing experience.

However, buyers should note that the handset offers an HD+ panel rather than a Full-HD+ display, despite being priced in the mid-range category.

Snapdragon processor and Android 16

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, which has a peak clock speed of 2.2GHz. It is paired with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and as much as 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The phone runs OriginOS 6, based on Android 16, out of the box. Vivo has also included software features such as Private Space, AI Creation, AI Captions, AI Transcript Assist and Origin Island.

The processor should comfortably handle everyday activities such as social media, messaging, video streaming and casual gaming. Users seeking high-end gaming performance, however, may need to compare it with other phones available in this price bracket.

7,200mAh battery is the biggest highlight

Powering the device is a massive 7,200mAh battery with support for 44W FlashCharge. According to Vivo, the battery can deliver up to 62 hours of music playback, 32 hours of video playback or around 11.4 hours of gaming, although actual endurance will depend on usage conditions. Vivo India

For photography, the Vivo Y31t 5G features a dual-camera system on the back. It includes a 50MP primary camera accompanied by a 2MP bokeh sensor.

The camera application offers several shooting options, including Night, Portrait, Pro, Slow Motion, Time-Lapse, Panorama and Underwater Photography modes.

An 8MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.

Durability and connectivity

The smartphone carries both IP68 and IP69 certifications, offering protection against dust, water immersion and high-pressure water sprays under specified testing conditions.
