Vijaya Sai Reddy hints at political comeback, sparks buzz over new party… can Andhra Pradesh get another alternative?
The former YSRCP MP says he will soon reveal his future political plans, triggering speculation about a possible new political outfit focused on youth, farmers and the middle class.
Vijaya Sai Reddy set to reveal future political plans amid new party speculation
Former Rajya Sabha member and ex-YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader V. Vijaya Sai Reddy has once again become the centre of political discussion after announcing that he will soon disclose his future political roadmap.
The veteran politician, who had earlier stepped away from active politics after resigning from both the Rajya Sabha and the YSRCP, has now indicated that his political journey may not be over after all.
His latest statement has fuelled intense speculation over whether he is preparing to launch a new political party in Andhra Pradesh or return to mainstream politics through another platform.
‘Will announce my decision soon,’ says Sai Reddy
In a statement shared on social media, Vijaya Sai Reddy said he would soon address journalists and explain his future political plans.”My political re-entry, future plans and programme of action will be announced shortly at a meeting with journalists. I hold independent views and will take my decision with self-respect, free from any pressure, inducement or influence, keeping only the interests of the people of the state in mind.”
The announcement has immediately reignited political speculation across Andhra Pradesh, with observers closely watching his next move.
From quitting politics to making political statements
After leaving the YSRCP, Sai Reddy had announced that he intended to stay away from politics and dedicate his time to agriculture.
However, despite that declaration, he remained active on social media, regularly commenting on political developments.
His posts have often criticised both the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and his former party, the YSRCP, while largely avoiding direct criticism of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
Several of his recent remarks have also reflected themes associated with Hindutva, adding another layer of speculation regarding his future political alignment.
BJP rumours fade, focus shifts to possible new party
Political circles had earlier speculated that Sai Reddy could join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
However, that possibility reportedly lost momentum due to the BJP’s alliance with the TDP-led coalition government in Andhra Pradesh.
Attention has now shifted towards reports suggesting that he may be preparing to launch a completely new political platform.
Although rumours also suggested he could return to the YSRCP, Sai Reddy has not confirmed any such move.

Preparations reportedly underway across Andhra Pradesh
According to political sources, Sai Reddy has already begun preliminary groundwork across the state.
He is reportedly holding discussions with district-level political leaders, Assembly constituency representatives, former bureaucrats and prominent personalities outside politics to gauge support for a new platform.
Sources also indicate that preparatory meetings and public consultations could be organised across Andhra Pradesh before any formal political announcement is made.
Focus likely on youth, farmers and the middle class

If launched, the proposed political platform is expected to prioritise issues affecting:
- Youth
- Farmers
- Women
- Government employees
- The middle class
Political observers believe Sai Reddy may attempt to position the outfit as an alternative to both the ruling TDP-led alliance and the principal opposition YSRCP.
However, as of now, Vijaya Sai Reddy has not officially confirmed that he is launching a new political party. His upcoming media interaction is expected to provide greater clarity on his political future.
