The next big addition to Mahindra & Mahindra’s SUV family could be closer to hitting Indian roads than many buyers realise. The upcoming Mahindra Vision S, which has already attracted considerable attention under the unofficial nickname ‘Baby Scorpio’, has once again been spotted during testing.

This time, however, the spy shots offer something more interesting than the exterior. The interior of the Vision S prototype has reportedly been spotted for the first time, giving enthusiasts a better idea of what Mahindra could be planning for its upcoming compact SUV.

The Vision S concept was first showcased by Mahindra during its Freedom NU event in August 2025. Since then, test vehicles have been spotted on Indian roads several times, keeping speculation around the production version alive.

The latest sightings have raised expectations that the production-spec SUV could make its India debut as early as August, although Mahindra has yet to officially confirm the launch timeline.

The test vehicle was reportedly seen with a steering wheel similar to the one used in the Mahindra BE 6, raising speculation that the prototype spotted could be an electric version of the Vision S.

While this does not confirm that the production model will be launched as an EV, it certainly adds another layer of intrigue to Mahindra’s upcoming SUV plans.

The dashboard appears to sit relatively high and features a squared infotainment touchscreen. The display is expected to measure around 12.3 inches, while vertically positioned air-conditioning vents add to the SUV’s upright dashboard design.

A flat rear windshield and a rear-mounted spare wheel could further strengthen the SUV’s traditional, adventure-focused character.

The exact powertrain lineup of the upcoming Vision S remains unclear, and Mahindra is yet to make an official announcement.
